I am a computational artist and pen plotter. My designs start in an abstract place, often influenced by observations of nature, lived experience as a queer person, and a deep appreaction for math, amongst other sources of inspiration.
Code, infinitely malleable, is my clay when starting a piece. I write and use software to lay out lines, points, and shapes in a file that my pen plotter can understand. From there, I get to enjoy the ritual of aligning pages, pairing inks with papers, and listening to the motors whir.
Plotting realizes my designs, acting as a portal between the digital and the physical. Passage involves the mixing of inks, snagging of fibers, and unexpected interactions. The artifacts imparted give each piece a testament to their creation.
