Haptic Happenings | 2024

Complete visual identity for Haptic Happenings, an exhibition of youth artwork at the Durham Art Guild's Truist Gallery. Curated by 2024 Durham Youth Leadership Fund recipient Faith Reagin with support from DurmPAC.

The design's color palette was inspired by example artwork provided by Reagin, which were also copied, torn, and scanned to serve as the backing of many components. Reagin's illustrations of hands were vectorized, recolored, and animated, working with the torn paper elements to center the exhibition's theme of touch and tactile sensations.

Deliverables included a multipage custom website, social media graphics, print posters, and branding assets.

Gillespie Consulting | 2024

A website overhaul project for Gillespie Consulting, a NC based firm. The complete redesign updated the site's look with an Ivy League inspired color scheme and consistent components inspired by Material Design.

To ease future editing, the site was constructed from scratch in Squarespace. Existing copy was reformatted into four pages, with navigation elements carefully placed to increase conversion rate throughout the design. Professional photography of Gillespie and his working space were used to create a narrative of connection between client and consultant.

Deliverables included a four-page Squarespace site, a live contact form, and a refreshed visual identity for the client.

PROTOTYPE | 2023

An immersive digital zine consisting of interlinked, interactive animations that feature and navigate between seven sculptural works of art. Created to immortalize Pop Box Gallery's exhibition of the same name.

Deliverables included eleven original javascript animations, exhibition artwork photos, and written copy across five HTML pages styled with custom CSS.

To promote a launch party event and further celebrate the artists, I created a nine-post instagram campaign carefully planned to leave a mosaic image on the gallery's page . Each post featured seamless swipe transitions between the artist's work and event details.

The illustration, from Celia, was inspired by weightlessness and the metamorphosis of youth. I focused on the background inspired by quilting, interpreting tiles as individuals in a community.

Sawubona Digital Zine

Near and dear to my heart, Sawubona was my first large web project, as well as the first project of DurmPAC. The Collective put out an art call for BIPOC/LGBTQ youth in the triangle to feature their work in a zine. I worked closely with fellow designer Celia Donnely to create a digital edition to accompany the printed zine. Sawubona features a p5.js cover sketch and nine pieces of artwork from local youth artists.
